Exterior caulking near me, Toronto, GTA

FAQ- Please reach us at bluesky-chris@rogers.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

What type of caulk do you use for windows and doors?
We use high-quality silicone sealant designed for long-lasting adhesion and flexibility in exterior applications.

Do you offer different color options for the caulk?
Yes, we offer over 50+ caulking color options to match your trim or siding. You'll find one that blends perfectly with your home.

What is the best caulk for exterior applications?
We use commercial-grade Dow Corning silicone, known for its durability, waterproof properties, and resistance to extreme weather.

How do you ensure a proper seal with the caulk?
We fully remove the old sealant, pack any large gaps with backer rod, then apply fresh, smooth beads of high-performance caulk for a professional finish.

How do you prepare the surfaces before applying caulk?
Each home is different, but our process always starts with complete removal of old caulk using tools like hook knives, scrapers, and utility blades. Then we clean the surface to ensure proper bonding.

Do you remove all old caulk before applying new caulk?
Yes, we remove all existing caulk completely. We even use a blower to get rid of any hidden dust or debris, which helps the new caulk adhere properly.

How do you handle gaps of different sizes around windows and doors?
We use foam backer rods to pack larger joints—these come in sizes from 1/4 inch to 4 inches. This ensures structural support and allows the caulk to flex as needed.

What is your process for caulking around window and door frames?
We use large sausage caulk guns (which hold more sealant), apply with precise nozzle cuts, and tool everything smooth using custom wood sticks soaked in soap and water for a clean, uniform finish.

How do you price your caulking services?
We base pricing on the total number of windows and doors that need caulking. Larger homes or complex layouts may affect the quote.

Can you provide an estimate based on my home's exterior?
Yes! Just text or email clear photos showing each side of the house. If trees or objects block the view, please send extra pictures of those areas.

Are there any additional costs for special situations (like hard-to-reach areas)?
Usually no. If we can’t see something during the quote and it adds extra ladder work or access issues, there may be a small added charge — but most of the time it's already included.

How do you inspect my windows and doors to determine if they need caulking?
We inspect your home by walking around the exterior and checking for visible cracks, gaps, or missing sealant. You can also send us close-up photos, and we’ll review them to assess what needs to be done.

What signs indicate that my current caulk needs replacing?
Look for cracked, split, missing, or moldy caulk around windows or doors. If the caulk is pulling away or letting in drafts, it’s time to replace it.

Can you identify areas where drafts might be coming from due to poor caulking?
Yes, we check not only windows and doors, but also vents, pipes, soffits, and brick or stucco walls — common places where poor caulking leads to drafts or leaks.

Can you check for areas where birds, rodents, bees, or flies might get in?
Absolutely. We inspect the full perimeter of your home and point out any gaps or access points. If we find anything, we’ll discuss solutions and sealing options.

How long will the caulking project typically take?
Most homes take 8 to 10 hours to complete. In some cases, we may return the following day for a few finishing details, depending on the size of the home or site conditions.

Do you need access to the inside of my home for interior caulking?
Generally, no — all exterior work is done from outside. However, if interior caulking is needed (for a washroom, tub, or kitchen sink), we’ll discuss access in advance.

What weather conditions are best for caulking exterior windows and doors?
We work in dry conditions between -20°C to +40°C. As long as it’s not raining or snowing heavily, the caulk will cure properly.

How do you clean up after completing the caulking job?
We use tarps below every window or door while removing old caulk. After the work is done, we sweep and clean up any leftover pieces, even around bushes or patios. So it looks like we were never there.

Will there be any mess or debris left behind?
No we clean up 99% of all debris and take it away with us. You won’t be left with a mess.

Do you offer a warranty on your caulking work?
Yes. If anything cracks or peels off due to poor application or product failure, we’ll fix it free of charge.

How long is the warranty period?
We offer a 15-year warranty when you caulk all your windows and doors. Smaller jobs (like single windows or tubs) come with a 5-year warranty.
